About Us

If you have not visited us before, you will be delighted at the wide variety of items housed under the roof of this beautiful 17th Century Grade II Listed Town House with a Georgian facade which has been displaying Art and Antiques for the last 40 years, we are situated midway along West Street, Dorking - an Internationally renowned focus for Antiques in the UK.

Our Centre spans over four floors, special features of the property include open fireplaces providing a lovely warm ambience, extensive glass frontage onto the street enabling us to rotate displays, and the second floor gallery with its exposed oak joists and beams. Although the building’s expansive rooms are especially suited to the display of furniture, our policy is to encourage a wide selection of specialists and general dealers catering for all our visitors’ needs. A variety of stunning showcases are available on all floors of the centre.

Here at Talbot House we are committed to offering the highest standards of customer service, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and expert dealers with a long tradition of quality antique trading and experts in their fields - the finest antiques to suit your spend, stocking something for everyone.

As well as rooms full of superb period furniture, there are many hundreds of smaller items such at pottery and ceramics, exquisite Lalique glass, antique, vintage and modern jewellery, a huge display of antique silver unequalled for miles around.

A glorious range of oriental carpets, runners, chenille rugs and glorious throws; some fantastic mirrors and table lamps; a large selection of vintage telephones; pens and writing implements, boxes and writing slopes, beautiful dinner services and silver cutlery; and superb dining tables and sets of chairs.

Recently some new dealers have joined the centre, displaying militaria from various periods, and for the ladies, some interesting European-designed clothing, scarves, handbags and accessories, not to mention fascinating French brocante items and distressed - painted country furniture.

And to top off this wonderful array, a superb home design gallery on the second floor, showing fabulous modern paintings, sculptures and studio pottery.
